when the market seem to excited for you, just remember to HAVE the money, not borrow or margin, just my 2 cent. for me, if i cant afford it, dun think about it. so that you earn, you earn thru your money. so that you lose, you lose thru your money. like buying iphone, if i want it, i will have the money ready, otherwise, borrowing ah, pay later ah, wont help. (no wonder i dun own credit card till this day)

seriously? maybe i would. that was my first intention when thinking of buying a house. should you get loan, you will realize much money is just used to pay for the interest rate, and you will WHAT THE... 300k house @ rate at 6.25%, for 30 years? if you use the calculator, end of 30 years, you would have paid 858k for the house, 585k for which was used to pay the interest rate. so, wait for another 5 years, ill speak with you on this again

in the financial term it is called leverage. with the margin account you can have 1X leverage. hedge funds around the world have leverage of something like 100X. i am up 75% and most of it come from the last 2 months. hopefully this run would turn into a full blown bull run. margin is good during bull run as it allows you to hold stocks in the event of intermittent pullbacks and profit takings, as generally prices will move higher and higher. your gain will be exponential as your trading limit will rise exponentially as you make more profits. in the event of full blown corrections during the bull run, cut loss, don't hold stocks. this is the trick.
