What can make the Stock Market to go up or down?

I know everything can lah, but in the short term what is important?

1. Company announcements
2. Interest rate
3. Natural disaster
4. Stock kena goreng
5. Politics
6. Petrol
7. War
8. Other stock markets

In the short term, FORGET about global economy.
Takes time to impact our market anyway.

FORGET about MSIAN economy.
Direct impact on specific stock? Nah.

FORGET about disaster.
Msia kind of free of disaster and what direct impact? Of cos, exception bird flu on poultry stocks.

Politics? FORGET it.
No direct impact except GLCs.

Petrol? FORGET it too.
No direct impact, unless, nah... consumer goods product shares aren't that volatile in Msia

War? FORGET it.
Unless Msia gets attacked, but then RM will also devalue, so no point keeping cash also. But maybe then should buy GOLD. Hmm... never really thought about it cos We Msians like Swiss' concept.

Other Stock Markets, Goreng and Company announcements.
Well, forget them too. If you believe in Efficient Market Theory (EMT) price already reflected in market, so too late to do anything. E.g. When MGO (Mandatory General Offer) hits the papers, too late to do anything.

So how ar? Learn TA.
Technical Analysis works in detecting what the trends will be in the near future.
Suitable for short term outlook.

FA - Fundamental Analysis will work in the long run.

See which suit your style. Learn and use them.
Forget paper trading. Doesnt work.

Update to old post: Don't screw Fundamentals. The stock market already don't make sense; if screw Fundamentals then it makes even less sense.

I am thinking now Fusion is the way to go.

If i will choose the 8 points u have mentioned, i will pick interest rates as this indicator that will affect your underlying investent trend!
Right now risk free interest rates is 4% p.a. this mean as a rule of thumb, that the stockmarket can bench-mark upto max PE 25 times.
Of course we normally use a lower benchmark to justify for higher risk investment and for risk management purpose.
