Personal Money Jan 07: Global Market, where to invest?
« on: December 26, 2006, 01:06:36 PM »
Investing in global market had been challenging but could bring about very good return to those who knew the technical knowhow.  How would you all see the opportunities? Hong Kong or Shanghai for REIT?
China for their blue chips?  Or US for computer stocks?  What do you all think?

That's why it's better to buy unit trust that invest overseas unless you are very pro like those who invest in options in US
Different country have different trends. And if you don't read magazines like wall street journal, economist and etc, it is very risky to invest overseas yourself. A simple question: What are the good companies in US? How many can you name? Of course, most people would name the famous ones. But famous ones does not necessary equate to high returns

If you buy unit trust that invest in foreign countries, best to read some magazines from overseas in my opinion. Why? Simple. Do you know what is happening in that country? And what industry is strong in that country? And what risk does the companies that unit trust invest in pose? And the list of question goes on....

So read, read and read... knowledge is power
