Enquiry on unit trust vs asb
« on: October 16, 2012, 01:27:08 AM »
Hi, I am very interested in putting some money in both of these two funds. im only 22 and willing to fork out like 30k. as I heard, all fixed pnb funds are fully subscribed and left like those funds which  charges 5% transaction fee. I am a moderate risk taker, and willing to hold on to the investment for 5 years to see some good compounding in my principle then only decide whether to continue or not. my expectation is around 6% annually. With lack of knowledge on stock markets for now and a university student who doesn't have time to monitor the markets, i think these funds are ideal for returning interest better than conventional fd, hopefully! However most threads that I viewed are against unit trusts. of course I understand the risk involved, still I rather put my money other than fd. I will be investing lump sump. There are like tons of funds provided from PM, just confused which should I be putting on? how bout those provided by pnb? I think gemilang and asn3imbang are available for me, also their performance is like 6% these two years... thanks for answering ::d

1.if u a bumi and not fully subscribed the ASB, go for it.
2. non-bumi, go as u in ur  mind for PNB funds.
3. since u r a moderate and student/new in investment, i can suggest bond/sukuk funds will be suit for u from PM with ur objective. 4-6%

Spend some time researching on the funds and you can find the best for you. Know the funds by yourself is better then to hear them from the sales agent whom at times might not even know what exactly they are recommending. :)
