Becareful when playing warrants.  If you are beginner, do start analysing on mother share 1st.  Anyway, it's around RM8+ after splits...

Have to ask sifus like MAxforce and Boofett coz most of us here are good in stocks only.  Warrants not suitable for beginners like us...

Pure gambling pal.  Learn the calculation behind first before you go in.  Start with fundamental stocks, then the more volatile ones.  Warrants could burnt you.  You could suffer from 90% degree burn pal.  Thread the market with wisdom and the $ shall flow to your coffer.  Good luck....

Refer to Bursa-CD thread.
Calculate the premium you re paying.
Then tell me, if the premium is justified?

cd Warrant price -  0.07
Conversion ratio  - 0.02
THerefore 20 warrants needed - 0.07 /0.02= 3.5

Exercise price: 7.8
Therefore Current Price if exercise 11.30

genting mother share closed at: 8.30
Therefore premium = 11.30 - 8.30 = 3
Premium per warrant = 3*.02 = RM0.06 per warrant.

this is based on the bursa calculation (i hope i get it right).... what does this premium on warrant mean?is it mean that the warrant is overvalued by 0.06 cents? what does the pre/dis% means?

cd Warrant price -  0.07
Conversion ratio  - 0.02 or 50:1
THerefore 50 warrants needed - 0.07 *50= 3.5

Exercise price: 7.8
Therefore Current Price if exercise 11.30

genting mother share closed at: 8.30
Therefore premium = 11.30 - 8.30 = 3
Premium per warrant = 3/50 = RM0.06 per warrant.

the only thing i find wrong is suppose to be 50 warrant. but calculation wise ... is follow exactly how u calculated for bursa cd....where could i have gone wrong?

No wonder I got confused  Grin Grin
Ok. So for each warrant you are paying effectively 6 cents premium.
Is this justified?

Theoritically, warrant premium is based on certain factors like expiry date (Time).
Simplicity wise, can Genting reach or attempt to reach 11.30 by 28 Sep 2007?

Hi All,
based on the exercise price.... the warrant for Genting won't be profitable unless you hit for example for cd, 11.30... so why do ppl buy the warrant? purely speculative?

Wait for the major corrections before jumping into the bandwagon.  Always, if you buy at the high, any minor correction will burn you and let yu hold the stocks until the paper got burn.

Observed Warren buffett advice of Buying Low and Selling high.

Some people can take a lot of risk although it's purely overvalued.  However, that was them, not You...So, do you want to jump into it to be like them?  Very easy to get burn i warrant.

I advise otherwise.  I wouldn't touch such warrant...

i am just puzzled because no matter how low.... (right now it is almost at lowest for the 2 warrant) , based on calculation, you still wouldn't make any money... so, every one who is buying is purely speculating?
i must admit, most ppl i know are playing speculative based on insider news.....

That is the risks in playing with this big fire.  Normally, I would only follow insider news for mother share.  Hard to figure out whether the warrant news is true coz it was so volatile.  Max, any idea?

In a bullish market, this is what I do with Call Warrants.
Apply them - if get, then sell within first 15 mins of listing.
Easy money - if get lah that is.

Then after that as I mentioned, near expiry can relook.
Relook - does not mean enter. Relook - enter if opportunity arises

yeah like i said its for short term ...ure preference on the mother share is for long term....However if u foresee Genting's quarter performance going to be good getting the call warrants for short term will net u more profits. I would target a 1 cent profit to sell all..went in at 5.5 cents.

Re : Genting CD - This Genting CD is now priced at a premium of 29% and as such is definitetly out, far and away for me. It is simply very expensive to me even though it is only 6 sen.
