A type of trading method based on TA.
In actual fact, best to avoid all gossips.
TA wise will discount any news as well as price would have been reflective.

TA is a tool.
Using that tool, many systems can be created.
Swing trading capitalise on short term movement - profit target usually is modest.
You would not see like super run up in a swing trading system.

Swing trading vs trend following. just like take small profit each time vs catch one big trend one time.

consider ur winning rate is 50%, win small rm500, loss big rm2000. over the long run, u will loose.

Unless ur winning rate is more then 70%

That would apply to any strategy if the system is only 50% winning rate and win small and lose big in relative to each winnings. Not a fair benchmark I d say.  :P

trend strategy is different, winning rate only 30%. Capture one trend in one year will make u million.
Swing trading just like punt a stock. Find a tight range, buy at support, sell at resistance. Or buy at oversold, sell at overbought.

Swing trading could have 70% winning rate. Capture many trends, could also make you a million.
Trend trading to make a million in a year? That depends on what sort of ROI are we talking about and what sort of capital base?

Certain counters offer good swing trading opportunities, whereas some others may be flat most of the time.

Dr Alexander Elder describes Swing Trading best in his book "Come Into My Trading Room: A Complete Guide to Trading".

Quote...

Markets spend most of their time going nowhere. They rally a few days, pause, decline a few days, and rally again. Small swings-weekly, daily or hourly-are more common than big trends. By the end of the month the market may be higher or lower, but it has traveled up and down several times. Newcomers get shaken out, while professionals enjoy the short rides.
Markets' tendency to swing above and below value has been statistically confirmed by several researchers. Swing trading means buying normalcy and selling mania ( buy near rising moving average, sell near the upper channel line)  or shorting normalcy and covering depression (sell short near the falling moving average and cover at the lower channel line).

Unquote...
