Boy, there is a saying "pick up where you fall".
I have not heard anyone who recover their losses from unit trust dividend.
If you ask me, your 100k better invest in back in the stock market.
But this time learn from your lesson and buy stocks that has better fundamentals.

Buy Unit Trust = Buy oldtown franchise. You share your earnings with franchisor

Buy Shares yourself = Setup your own kopitiam. You keep all your earnings

No one method is superior. If you got the ability, then open your own kopitiam. If you do not have the ability, then open an oldtown kopitiam.

UT Manager = Protect ricebowl first, maximise profit next

Invividual = Always maximise profit first

This means even if the UT manager know there is certain stock that is likely to go up, he will not dare to take too much risk.
E.g. He buy GAB and it drops, prob he just need to write a report and state reason for the loss. Nothing drastic will come to him.
He buy GSB and it drops, prob he needs to find a new job.

If you have 100k to invest, might as well diversify yourself across different markets, or even go for offshore investment.

Create yourself a portfolio which encompasses of China, Asia, developed markets, different industries and multiple type of funds. You can get more consistent return that way rather than just investing in one fund. I would even say it is dangerous to do so.

If you need help in developing a portfolio, do pm me though.

I invested tis fund few years ago... so far return is positive... but bear in mind... UT is slower but safer then invest in share market directly...
if boy got holding power and aim for long term... try public strategic smallcap...
anyway... public regular saving fund is quite ok
hope it is help
