Open letter to Rafizi

Dear Rafizi

Want to be Robin Hood? Tax gain in stock market to give the poor?

Luckily you are not the finance minister.

Every buy and sell contract is subjected to stamp duty and since apr 2015, investors have to pay GST (now SST) on brokerage. Arenít those taxes?

The next question: what is government doing for investors ? For income tax, road tax, etc, government has to provide infrastructure, security, etc for citizen. Capital gain in stock market, is government providing any services to investors? Is not honouring contracts awarded such as MRT2 when there was no corruption involved, is a form of service to investors?

Abolished GST to be in power. Didnít you say by reducing corruption, it is sufficient to cover the RM20bn gap between GST and SST? So why need to introduce new taxes to torture Rakyat?

Companies are listed to access capital market to raise fund for expansion. If companies not able to expand, will there be jobs creation and higher taxes to pay your salary? Why are you proposing something that will chase away investors? Go for long term benefit, not short term policies just to gain votes.

Regards
