Hey guys,

Recently Kenanga has launched a Private Equity Fund called Kenanga Global Unicorn 1 that invest into unicorn companies like Airbnb, Palantir Technologies and Impossible Foods.

They have certain allocations for these unicorn companies that are around 10% of the current valuation. The strategy here is to exit these companies before they IPO as this won't be as risky as holding to go IPO.

As we all know, last years market was horrible but this fund managed to enter Uber in October 2018 and exited in December 2018 ( 3 months later) . They managed to generate a profit of 25% within that 3 months in last years horrible market conditions and this is also despite Uber's disastrous IPO.

As we all know for private equity investments, you would need to be a ultra high net worth individual. Through this fund, the entry level has been brought down to Rm100,000 only.

Private Equity investments is a game played by the big boys but now through this fund we are able to participate in this game.
